Join groups and organizations having the same interest in classic cars. You will be able to get a lot of tips from them regarding where to go for hard-to-find parts, what shop best restores a classic car, or maybe recommend an excellent mechanic who offers door to door service.



If you can't sell your parts through the normal venues, you're going to have to be creative. If you've got parts that are worth some money, and in excellent condition, try putting a note on community bulletin boards in stores, the library, or wherever you can put one up. Online bulletin boards for your area are also good places to list euro car parts for sale. If you post your name, number, city, and your make and model year, you might connect with a mechanic who's been searching for your exact item. If your parts are the only ones around, you can make some good money.

There are e-commerce solutions available that are incredibly complex. Many of them are also very powerful but have a steep learning curve or require you to have substantial technical understanding. I've worked with several customers who spent hundreds of hours trying to implement a solution that never worked correctly and I replaced them. Don't undervalue your own time.

A drill press is very convenient to drill holes. I have a vice that is used to hold the pen blanks vertically while the hole is drilled. This makes it a little easier to have a hole that is straight through the center of the pen blank. This can be very important as you must have a straight hole when turning pen blanks that have been laminated, otherwise you will not have a symmetrical pattern. Also, if you have a hole that isn't straight through the pen blank, you might end up with too little material to turn the pen, which means throwing it away and starting over.

You may face several decisions while looking for the right part. You can search for a starter at a parts store website. Put in information asked for, and you will see starters that fit your car. It may pull up a list of several that will fit. Which aftermarket car parts do you buy? Some are re-manufactured and some are new. Some have a short warranty and others have a lifetime warranty. How do you make the right decision?
